Travel Information

✈️ Recommended Route with ITA Airways:
We recommend flying with ITA Airways, which offers smooth and reliable service with a short layover in Rome (about 1 hour) before connecting to Catania. This break down is based same day arrival but there are options with longer lay overs to explore Rome or Milan.

JFK → Rome (FCO): Approximately 8 hours
Rome → Catania (CTA): Approximately 1.5–2 hours
This route is efficient, and ITA Airways typically coordinates their connecting flights well. Flights tend to fill quickly, especially during high season, so we highly recommend booking early to secure the best itinerary. Rome transfers the luggage directly to the Catania flight, no need to check them out and in again.

✨ Direct Flight Option
There is also a direct flight from JFK to Catania with Delta, which is another excellent option for those who prefer fewer travel steps. These flights are limited and very popular, so early booking is key.

🚗 Ground Transportation
Upon arrival in Catania:

Car rentals are available directly at the airport if you prefer the flexibility of driving.
For those staying at a hotel or local accommodation, we recommend calling ahead to arrange a taxi or shuttle pickup—many places offer assistance with transportation especially in the airport.
Whether you choose a connecting flight or go direct, your journey ends in the heart of Sicily—where sun, sea, and celebration awaits.
